Dez Bryant agrees to terms with Cowboys

Dez Bryant became the first 2010 1st round pick to agree to terms with the team that drafted him, as he will sign a five-year deal worth just under $12 million ($8.5 million guaranteed).

For all the scrutiny Bryant was under before the draft, he took some big steps toward improving his image by bucking the recent trend of high-profiled rookie hold-outs, and agreeing to his first professional contract before the start of training camp. The timing if this deal is crucial, because especially because of the attention the Cowboys receive.

Bryant will still have to give his all to live up to his hype. But if his off-season to date is any indication of how he will play in 2010, maybe the Cowboys should pay him some more money.

Thanks for reading.
