Bush to lose 2005 Heisman?

Reggie Bush will reportedly be stripped of his 2005 Heisman Trophy within the coming weeks.

According to the Yahoo! Sports report, the trophy will remain vacant.

This is the first time in the history of the Heisman Trophy award that the trophy will be taken away from the winner.

This is the direct result of Bush’s ineligibility during the 2005 season, in which USC lost to Texas in the classic National Championship game in the Rose Bowl.

Bush finished first in Heisman voting in 2005 with 2,541 points. Vince Young finished second with 1,608 points–933 points less than Bush.

No action will be taken against Bush from the NFL or the Saints regarding this matter.

Such a joke. Bush was the best player that year. He should be rewarded as such.

  2. I agree he had the most talent, but if he broke major rules, these are the consequences. It seems pretty clear he knew what he was doing was wrong.
